Everyone is at risk for developing glaucoma, but certain risk factors can increase your chances of developing the condition.
Family History
You are four to six times more likely to develop glaucoma if it runs in your family.
Age
You are six times more likely to develop glaucoma if you are over the age of 60.

Glaucoma Treatment Options Non-Surgical and Minimally Invasive
Your glaucoma treatment will depend on the severity of your symptoms. Our doctors can care for most patients with eye drops and prescriptions, but minimally invasive surgery or lasers are necessary in some cases.
Eye Drops
Prescription eye drops are typically the first choice of treatment for glaucoma patients. The eye drops are either prescribed to increase the drainage of the eye or to reduce the production of fluid within the eye. Both are aimed at reducing eye pressure and preventing further optic nerve damage.
Prescription Medications
Sometimes prescription medications will be given to reduce the production of aqueous humor and significantly reduce eye pressure. Eye drops and medication cannot cure glaucoma or the damage that has already occurred to the optic nerve, but they can stop the progression.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
